Tacoma wins second straight conference title.

In a rematch of the 2009 PDFL Championship, the Tacoma Cobras met the Bellingham Blitz in a much anticipated game. This time the Conference title was on the line as the teams faced off with 4-1 records. Despite a strong second quarter comeback, the Cobras held on to beat Bellingham 44-25.
In a game that was closer than the score showed, Tacoma jumped out to a 21-0 lead after the first quarter. Bellingham scored 16 unanswered points in the second quarter to cut the lead to 21-16 at the half.
Tacoma was able to overcome three personal foul calls and a 15 yard face mask penalty. Both teams had numerous 5 yard calls and pass interference fouls in a game that featured a lot of thrown flags.
The Blitz crowd at Civic Stadium rallied behind their team and fired up the defense to nail the Cobras with a pair of safeties including one on a blocked punt in the second quarter. The Cobras answered in the third quarter with a touchdown on a blocked punt.

TACOMA COBRAS VISITS THE KIDS AT PORTLAND COMMUNITY CENTER

On June 26, the Tacoma Cobras took time out of their practice schedule to visit the kids at Portland Community Center on Tacoma's Eastside. It is really important that we instill into ourthe players the importance of giving back. Kids look up to athletic sport stars at all levels of the game. Players signed autographs, took pictures and passed the pig skin around. Be on the lookout for more sightings of the Tacoma Cobras.
